They traveled to many destinations, making friends wherever they went. Penny and Frank had a lot of fun traveling together. He was the “car guy” who loved owning cars, working on them, and attending car shows. His family and friends were always there for his warm smile, infectious laugh, and his wonderful embrace. He had an endless circle of friends and was passionate about many topics. Frank also had an incredible gift for conversation. Frank spent a great deal of time lending it to those who needed it and lovingly earned the nickname “Mr.”. Be it a person or an object, he was always optimistic that things could be improved. If you knew Frank, you also knew that he thought anything could be fixed. Both families benefited from Frank’s unconditional love, wise advice, and his truly generous nature. He loved and nurtured them all beyond belief.
He did an excellent job of instilling a good work ethic and strong principles in both of them.įrank married the love of his life, Penny Ridgeway, in 1989. He always supported each and every career option of his. In other words, Frank never really retired.įrank was a devoted family man who played a complicated part in raising his two sons.
He then began his current career consulting for General Electric/WABTEC. did this while working forįrank was a lifelong employee of GE in various engineering roles for 42 years until his retirement in 2002. He completed three years of technical training before furthering his education at Gannon University. After his graduation, Frank was proudly accepted into the apprenticeship program at General Electric in Erie, Pennsylvania. He attended elementary and high school in Jamestown. Frank is fondly remembered for telling everyone, “His childhood was the best that any child could have.” He was the eldest of two sons born to Joe and Katie (Sia) Franzione. Franzione was born on 3 June 1942 in Jamestown, New York.
